Working can sometimes make
you sick, and it happens when things get
imbalanced. People focused more into career and neglect health issues. They are
getting too focused on generating income;
little do they know that it’s going to be insufficient when they get to pay
doctors one day. According to recent
statistics, 2.3 million die each year because of work-related issues. The main
factor to this is a health problem; unhappiness,
too much pressure, and unsafe workplace. In this article, I am going to discuss some of the popular ways on how to stay
healthy while having hectic work schedules.
1. Manage
your time. Well allotted time increases productivity. It
creates a sound atmosphere and keeps you
away from wrong pressures, thus giving an
excellent healthy body. I remember a time when I was working in a Japanese
firm; they are strict in time discipline because they believe that mismanaged
time can bring bad situations in our life.
Well, they are referring to poor health because of unsound atmosphere
brought by pressure. One good tip to organize time is by priority. Don’t linger too much on things that
don’t provide a good outcome, consider
which is more important and recognize the
value. Maximize your resources; smartphones can help you become an efficient
person. Use reminders and calendars to avoid missing essential tasks. According to Benjamin Franklin, “Lost time is never found again.” So make sure you don’t mess with it.
2.
Hydrate. Proper intake of water can help you
stay in good shape and in good condition.
There are a lot of good things that water can do to your body. One of is making
sure all your body cells have sufficient
nutrient to function correctly in our
body. The
human body uses water to almost all parts of the body, and it helps to regulate and maintain proper
body function. Without enough supply of
this element, you will be prone to sickness as your body is not able to
function correctly. One research
concluded that lack of water in the body could
lead to an uncomfortable feeling, and as
someone who is so busy you don’t want this to happen to you. This will undoubtedly
affect your productivity. Stay hydrated, stay healthy. Follow what is being told in grade school about proper intake
of water. Six to eight glasses of it must be taken daily to maintain good
health.
3. Exercise
(a bit). Like a busy bee, I understand that you may not
have the ideal timing to have time and hit on the gym. If you have that extra time, then you may not be that busy at all. But
if you find it hard to set a schedule for that hard exercise activity, you may
choose to walk. There are these destinations wherein you are capable of walking,
but you decide
to avoid it. Instead of stepping into the elevator from 6th floor to
7th floor, why not take the
stairs? It’s good for your legs, thighs, and
lungs. Taking the stairs helps you burn calories; it enables you to reduce cardio risk and builds muscle tone as well. Another
way of doing exercise in a bit is by
doing sit-ups before you sleep. Five sit-ups won’t hurt you, and three push-ups will
help you regulate blood through your body. Doing all these things will not take
much of your time; it will help you become healthy and in good shape. The
challenge in this part is the forming the habit. It’s not going to be easy, but with proper
determination, you will be able to
achieve success over this.
4. Understanding. The mind is
a battlefield of two opposing convictions; the good and the bad, the truth and
the lie, the yes and the no. The human mind
is also a significant factor to your
health, as it can command the whole system of your body. If you are happy, your
brain understands that you are so glad, so it sends out command in the body to feel glad. Same goes with stress. As your mind accepts the information that you are
pressured and stressed, it will send a command
to the body to act that way. So be
careful with how you agree to things in your life, be creative to accept
failure and defeat. If you look at failure
as a challenge, you will not be thinking as a sore loser rather a successor in
line. Therefore your brain will not have to command lousy things to your body, and you will feel great. You will not be
feeling sick, and you will have a sound
mind.
All these things are just some of the
things that will help you stay in good shape and be productive as always. I
understand that most of the times, people who work with hectic schedules get a
lot of health issues. This is because
work has been prioritized while health is
considered second. Everything should be balanced. When one thing gets out of balance, it will have a cascade of effects
in our life. After all, people should not forget that employment is supposed to
make our life comfortable not horrible. As you have understood some practices from this writing, put into life what you have learned. Don’t just gather
information and stock them into your head. Application of knowledge is the
beginning of wisdom.
